spotting
Hi- I'm new to this board...only at about 6 weeks. I was just curious if anyone else has experienced spotting during their pregnancy. I've noticed some pale pink spotting a few times now. I'm trying not to freak out and I've read that some women spot throughout their pregnancy....I went to the dr today and they did a blood test to test my blood type- I get the results tomorrow. I guess I was just hoping someone here could offer some reassuring words....

Re: spotting
Welcome to the board!!
First thing is try not to freak out (easier said than done I know)! Many of us went through it ourselves. I had it from about 6 weeks to 10 weeks.
Try and take it easy - I was told no heavy lifting, and I was put on pelvic rest (aka no ) while I had spotting.

Re: spotting
Thanks...that's reassuring- did your dr do any tests to check you for anything when you told her about the spotting?

Re: spotting
I had spotting at 5 weeks, again at 9 weeks, and red bleeding at 14 weeks. And so far everything is still okay with the baby. As long as it's not red blood enough to soak a menstrual pad, my ob told me that I was okay. It's still scary though, I know.

Re: spotting
Ok dont freak. i t could be alot of things. deeper implantation happens at around 5/6wks so that could cause spotting. U may also have a hemtoma. Which is very normal. I hope everything is ok. I iwll pray for you. All i can say is. Try to keep your feet up as much as possible & rest. Also alot of water & just to be safe no sex (intercourse) until all is ok. But this is your decision.

Nope, just told me to keep an eye on it and call if I started bleeding through pads or if it was bright red and accompanied with bad cramping.

Re: spotting
try to take it easy and stay off ur feet and no hanky panky. LOL If its just light spotting I wouldn't worry especially if your doc isn't worried. If you start seeing real blood then def call ur doc.
I know its hard when u see anything out of the norm when u are expecting just try to think positive

Re: spotting
This is pretty common and can be due to implantation. As long as the bleeding is light and not accompanied by cramping you shouldnt worry. Stay off your feet as much as possible. God bless.

Re: spotting
I have another question for those of you with spotting...did you spot for days in a row or on and off? It's happened a few days in row now and this morning it's darker...

Re: spotting
I had a friend who had quite a bit of spotting her whole first trimester and now has a very healthy 2.5 year old.
I know for some it can be very common. Try to relax and take it easy. Stress is never a good thing for the baby.

Re: spotting
spotting is different for everyone. If it continues I would call the dr. and see what they recommend.
Best of Luck to you

Re: spotting
Did you have an internal exam or sono recently? These can both cause spotting since the cervix is very sensitive at this point.
I had spotting at 6 weeks 4 days after an internal sono. I then had a few more instances of spotting that were just random. I went on to have a healthy ds. It is common for some women to spot without cause.

Re: spotting
I am spotting too. I am 6 1/2 or 7 weeks. Yesterday I found out that my beta numbers are rising so I should relax. They will do an ultrasound next week to verify everything is ok.
I still worry even though they told me not to. I have a DS and I never spotted with him.

Re: spotting
I have had spotting on and off...all different colors...tan, brown, dark brown, blackish and a lil red - I have a hematoma in my uterus and they think this is causing the spotting. Right now I am not allowed to work out and am just taking it easy...I am 6.5 weeks and have my sono today to see the baby.
I would let your dr. know - he may want to see you sooner and do a sono.
Also my doctor said as long as you arent cramping bad and having a lot of red blood it is probably ok but you should call.

Re: spotting
Thanks again...I talked to my drs office and they scheduled a sono for me next thurs. They told me to drink 32oz of water beforehand -somehow it will make it easier for them to see something since its so eearly. When I told my sister about this she said that seemed like it's old technology...was anyone else told to drink that much water before hand? I don't know how I'm not going to pee it all out...

Re: spotting
That's weird... a full bladder is used for an external sono (wand over your belly). But at 7 weeks, they're sure to do an internal sono (wand up your you-know-what) because those are more sensitive. I don't know why you'd need a full bladder.
It's sure to be uncomfortable though, so if I were you, I'd call the day before and clarify.
Good luck!
