split layout?
ok, maybe a long shot BUT does anyone have a split where your kitchen opens into your dining room with a pic to share????
we have a split with a dining room and kitchen that share a wall and I'm trying to imagine what it would look like knocked down :)

I am sure people do have photos... I have a split, but I have the wall up (because I like the separation to maintain a more formal dining space).
But it is EXTREMELY common for people to take the wall down, or partially down -- some leave a half wall to have a breakfast bar with stools, or just a semi-division between rooms while maintaining the open feel. But I've also seen many splits where the entire first floor is open (a great room effect, basically).

Here are some pics when we first moved in... kitchen table is gone and we now have a free standing kitchen cart in that spot... tried to make it like a peninsula... until we can afford to re-do the kitchen and get a real one!
I also really want to get rid of that wall between the back door and the dining room.... maybe sooner rather than later. Image Attachment(s):

The split we in contract on has a breakfast bar as PP said. This is the best pic I have of it since we are actually not living there, yet.

We did exactly this... we took down half a wall and had a high bar open to the dining room. See my album for pix.
