Spinoff to Word/Sentences post
DS is 13.5 months old. He says a few words. Sometimes repeating that and not totally using them correctly.
When do you start counting how many words they say? 
A lot of it is babbling too.
Is there a certain age when they just start exploding with words?

I did not count them as words until she said them herself correctly and in the right context. She would say MAMA DADA and BABA for months but not specifically towards the right things (more of copying us).

I only counted it when she started using them correctly....Chels started early with words and now every day she's learning something new...

AJ was late in speaking..
but we were told to count any repeated sound with connection to an object that she obviously understood to have meaning and was responding with that same sound over and over again.
So Ba for bird, Ba for Balloon, Ba for ball which was three words.
