Spinoff to washing clothes
So, is it really necessary to wash the babies clothes, sheets etc. in special seperate detergent? Seriously? Yeah they have sensitive skin but I'm on the fence trying to decide if this is one of those things that's the "trend" right now.
No fabric softner I know.

I use all free and clear on our clothes because I have had issues in the past so that's what I'm using for the baby

Re: Spinoff to washing clothes
I never did. If I see the baby break out, I will switch of course, but I've always used the same detergent. When the baby is laying on me, her face is touching my clothes, which I wash with regular detergent, and if she's on my bed, the same thing, so either way she's coming into contact with a different detergent.

Spinoff to washing clothes
I have ridiculously sensitive skin and my mom always washed my stuff with everything else when I was a baby but that was a thousand years ago... honestly, I use Dreft because I just really like the way it smells... I wash our sheets and towels in it too

Spinoff to washing clothes
I use the Tide Free for all of our clothes at this point. I don't know when but I definitely started using fabric softener again (not the Free either -- regular old Downy) but it was several months after DS was born. I was super duper cautious with DS' clothes. I don't see myself being that way with this one.

I use all free and clear also. I also wash his clothes separately, but mostly because he always has enough for a full load!!

Spinoff to washing clothes
I am going to try making my own detergent one of these days and will use that to wash the baby's stuff.
