Spinoff to the Protest: How does Sharpton get paid?
Like how does he eat, where does his paychecks come from. Does he work?
I always wonder about people who promote peace, issues, whatever. Who pays them?

Totally making an assumption here..but a friend of mine was a public figure and he used to get paid to give speeches and to show up at certain events.

He makes his money by speaking out for people and making cases become high profile. For instance, if the Sean Bell family gets money, he'll get a huge cut.
Also, he runs a "non-profit" agency, which he makes money off of. The bottom line is the reason he gets involved in so-called race-related incidents is because he knows that the crazier he gets, the bigger the settlement and the cut.
If the money potential is not there to be earned, he could care less. If a black cop is shot, he could care less.

I'm sure that he gets paid for appearances/speeches.
Is he the minister of a church now? If so, they would pay for his housing and other necessities.

I saw him at a restaurant once in Manhattan. He bullied his way to a free meal. It made me sick what he threatened to do if he got a bill
