Spinoff to the fundraiser threads
The World's Finest chocolate bars...what's the deal? I think they changed the recipe or something because they don't taste the same. Anyone else notice that?
People at work sell for their kids and bring in the whole case. I buy one of each variety (okay really like three or four of each) but I feel like last year, they tasted different.
I mean I'll still eat them. They're just not the same.

Spinoff to the fundraiser threads
I feel they haven't been the same for quite a few years...I loved those bars! I sold them as a kid, and they are completely different now! No joke, they were 4 times the thickness when I sold them, and there was only one flavor, milk chocolate with almonds. But that being said, the rare occasions I see someone selling them, I buy like 10!!!!

Re: Spinoff to the fundraiser threads
They were definitely thicker back in the day but I still love them. In fact I saw a lady in my lobby yesterday carrying a box and I almost tackled her to buy some OMG the almond ones

They are definitely thinner but they still cost $1. I sold them over 25 years ago for the same price. I love the almond ones too.

Spinoff to the fundraiser threads
They are still good but they definitely aren't the same - they were thicker in the past and were to die for - now I think they are just good.
I guess they had to do something since they haven't raised the price in over 30 years lol.

Re: Spinoff to the fundraiser threads
Am I imagining this or did they have one with crisped rice in it? Like a Krackel bar? Or was it just plain or almond?

I could have sworn they had that kind too. They have caramel now and I love those

They still make the rice ones!
And yeah, they used to be way thicker! I forgot about that.
I do love that they're only a buck. So I can buy like 20 of them and feel like a philanthropist.

Definitely, this is probably a "chocolate flavored" candy bar as opposed to real chocolate

YES!!! When we were kids they were SO thick, now they are the thinnest little bars!! I've bought direct from them a few times, sometimes they were yummy but once or twice I had a batch that tasted really crappy. Seems to be hit or miss.

Re: Spinoff to the fundraiser threads
This is disappointing to hear. I'd rather they upped the price to $2 a bar and kept the quality. I'd still buy it!!

I like this line of thinking! But if I keep seeing people selling them, I'm going to be a philanthropist with a fat A$$!

Yes! They have gotten thinner and not as good as I remeber they used to be when I was a kid. Doesn't stop me from eating a case though lol. I can't believe they're still $1. But I agree with Nell, I'd rather they kept them the same as the old days but upped the price to keep up with inflation. Don't mess with a good thing! Side note: do they still have the McDonald's coupon inside the wrapper? Man those bars were the best! Awesome chocolae AND discount burgers lol.

Spinoff to the fundraiser threads
They have $2.00 bars they are much bigger
The $1.00 bars are smaller
It matters which ones the people fundraising choose to sell

Yes! Not sure if we sold the same brand in high school but I always just ate them all myself. I'd raid my dad's quarter stash and eat them systematically. All the caramel first, then all the crispy rice, then almond, then plain milk chocolate. Yet somehow I was a scrawny string bean. How I miss those days!

Same and then go to McD's with the coupons! Oh to have that metabolism again!
