spinoff to target experience...
on the subject of s ucky customer service experiences, listen to this one--
my DH bought a new leather office chair from office depot. when he got home, and opened the box, the base for the casters (made of plastic) was broken in three pieces. there was a white duct tape mark on one of the pieces.
DH went back to office depot the next day and spoke with the manager, bringing along the three broken pieces of the base. she told him he couldn't return it b/c of the duct tape mark on one of the pieces! we told her it came like that!
she actually accused DH of being the one who broke the base and attempted to put it back together!
we disputed the charge with our credit card company
(that's why DH likes to pay with cc's)
we are writing a letter to corporate as well---
do you believe this?! over a $60 chair!, the manager just lost a few customers, us and everyone we've told the story to!
they were the ones who prob. resold broken merchandise!

Uch, that's so infuriating! Whatever happened to "The customer is always right?" It went away in this day of big corporations. I wish there were more mom and pop stores out there.

What makes this so crappy is that obviously someone else broke the chair. They returned it without stating a reason but because your DH was honest about it, he has to jump through the hoops of getting his money back.

I would file a complaint with the BBB! believe it or not, you WILL get a response. I have filed 2 in the past few yrs and always got a repsonse

DH thinks it would be a waste of time, though...he thinks we'd just be talking to a customer service rep. in india, or the philippines. i mean, how can you fully explain something to someone who wasn't there, let alone, not even in the country!
even filing with the BBB means nothing, now!
