I have no idea how much it was, but my sister's rehearsal dinner was at the Harbor Crab (her MIL worked there).

Gallo had a small room for private parties. I've never been but I always hear the food is great.
Depending on how many people you could try main street bistro. We used to do a big family dinner there every year and it was so good. It wasn't a private room but we'd have a huge table and do a bunch of family style apps and entrees.

We did my daughter's Communion at the Brickhouse Brewery and the smaller room upstairs is so nice. They have several packages and the one we got was very reasonable.

Did our rehearsal dinner at Butteras in Sayville, instead of doing a catering package we just reserved the small private room and ordered family style platters that we personally chose ( a salad, a pasta, a chicken, steak, shrimp dish and then just paid for the drinks.
Very affordable!

I was going to recommend brickhouse brewery or J&R's.
