Spinoff to never relaxing - No Pablo cake for us!
I came to the realization tonight (5pm) that there was NO WAY I could bake a cake and decorate it for DS' Birthday party tomorrow. I sent DH to BJ's to order him a cake at the last minute. It won't be Pablo or Backyardigans but we will at least have a cake.
I am a bit disappointed. I had all the supplies to make it. But I ran out of time.
The party is at 1pm. I still have to clean the inside of the house, iron my clothes, etc...
Sometimes you have to be realistic and stop killing yourself for things that are probably NOT that important.

OMG This is so sweet! DH ordered a cake though. I honestly cannot let you do a cake for me like that at the last minute.
This was so generous of you! This cake is very time consuming.

Oh I know - but I enjoy doing them, I just did one on Sunday - and let me tell you it took me forever and I had all my relatives waiting for me to finish it.

Maybe you could just buy some small backyardigans action figures and put them on the cake
..my DS's 2nd b-day was all dinosaurs and I actually used some of the dinos from a brand new set with the fake trees and rocks and put them on the cake to make a scene..
(granted my cake was green.. but still.. you could maybe cluster the little guys in the corner or something, it would still be cute)

It will be delicious regardless! I'd say a less-stressed mommy is more important than staying up all night making a cake
