Spinoff to % income to house
How much do you put into savings each month (i.e. mutual funds, savings account, bonds, investments, etc DO NOT include 401(k))

Re: Spinoff to % income to house
We save all of my paychecks and use DH's paychecks to pay the bills.

All of my paycheck, some of DH's paycheck, and all of DH's bonuses.

Not very much. Some months almost nothing, other months maybe a few hundred or so. It's not that we spend extravagantly, but we don't bring in much to begin with, and our bills all seem so high.

Re: Spinoff to % income to house
I am surprised by homw much people are able to sock away! For those putting away decent amounts, do you have daycare expenses, student loans, car payments, etc??

I put away half of my pay check each pay. DH covers most of the bills, I supplement.

Free daycare would make a big difference in our household, as I'm sure with many others.

Re: Spinoff to % income to house
We aim to save 10% of our gross salaries each month.
Some months we are on target; some months were aren't.
I wish we were this frugal before we had our baby! We could have saved so much more. Day care is a killer!

Re: Spinoff to % income to house
Unforunately right now, not as much as I'd like to, but we're paying off a lot of debt lately but at the end of this month we have money going into savings that we originally had to pay to a debt.
