do i need one?
i always thought they were for "old" people, since they can be a little more dilicate (health-wise).

I'm a teacher and ALWAYS get one - If you work around children, I definitely suggest you get one.

the only child i'm around is my son, he's 12. the only older person i'm around is a co-worker and she ALWAYS gets one.

i work in healthcare, so i get it every year. i also have dh get it, he got the flu once in college and got soooo sick

I've never received a shot. I DID get the flu once, though, about 5 years ago. I'd rather take my chances, until I have kids.

i've gotten them yearly since i was 10. DH got the flu last year and it was HORRIBLE. off from work nearly a week, sick for about a month...it's so awful; i don't know why anyone wouldn't do all they can to avoid it. i don't work with kids or the elderly, but we are all exposed everywhere we go and everything we do...

Typically, only the very young, very old, or those with health problems DIE from the flu, but those who don't die, sometimes which they would during the worst of the symptoms! It's an absolutely horrible experience. I've had the flu during my healthiest time of my life. I was in no risk of dying, but I definitely don't want to experience that again...
