Spinoff to Diana's walking shoes question...
did you get the shoes when they started cruising or full blown walking? DS is cruising now a lot, but can't walk without holding on yet. Do I wait?

Re: Spinoff to Diana's walking shoes question...
Tyler is running and I am just now getting him a pair of shoes (today actually)
I got him measured at Stride Rite, they said he was a 5.5 Extra Wide, and I had a pair of brand new sneakers from Jack in that size - but they were too small on him. So, I haven't had a chance to go back yet.
If you find out what size he is I may have a pair of beginning walker shoes for you!

I heard they won't even measure you at stride rite if DC can't walk a little across the room.

Once I get Jack from school I will see what size the shoes are - they are practically brand new. They are not as cute as regular shoes but have the higher support for new walkers!

Re: Spinoff to Diana's walking shoes question...
DD was mostly cruising and taking a few steps at a time
Then I got them...I had free time then to go shopping, DD got her feet measured at Stride Rite (and no she couldn't walk across the store yet) and got some sneakers. A week later she was walking everywhere so I think it worked out fine.

Re: Spinoff to Diana's walking shoes question...
DS is crusing well. I went to Stride Rite and had him measured a few weeks ago, but they did not have ANY shoes for him because he is a 3X wide and only a 3.5 size. They told me to bring him back when he loses the baby fat. They also told me that he shouldn't wear shoes until he's walking.

Not sure if it's because it was the outlet, but they didn't say anything about that.
DS was only crusing when we got him shoes. The woman at his daycare wanted him to have them b/c if he was outside, she didn't want to chance him stepping on a bee or hurting his foot on anything. I REALLY wanted to wait till he was fully walking - but it doesn't seem to have caused any problem. He's racing around like crazy now with or without shoes.

Re: Spinoff to Diana's walking shoes question...
DS is pretty much walking without holding on. he goes short distances and only getting braver as the days go on.
I guess i'll bring him to get fitted. I see stride rite has different steps for different levels..probably best just to go there.

I just looked and the first shoes that I have from Stride Rite are a Size 5. They are pretty much brand new and are yours if you want them!
