Spinoff to Crashing a Wedding...

I accidentally crashed a FUNERAL once

I was going to the funeral for the Mother of a woman I worked with. I was going to support the woman I knew and I had never met her mom nor what her mom's name was...

FIRST we went to the wrong funeral parlor and I walked in and told them I was there for Bobbi. This nice man told me that Bobbi was in the front of the room and offered to walk me up there. I didn't see her so I reconfirmed her name, and I was at the wrong place I couldn't have left there faster

THEN I finally found the right Funeral Home and I first walked into the wrong room. It was QUITE obvious that it wasn't where I was supposed to be either

FINALLY I wound up in the right place after all that confusion!

To TOP it off, as I was in the car to the RIGHT funeral home, I heard on the radio that Dale Earnhardt was killed in the Daytona 500. I was in tears in the car hearing the tragic news, so I walked into the funeral already red-faced and upset. I didn't even know the lady that died - but I sure looked upset

My sister has "funeral hopped". I know that sounds terrible, but her friend's grandmother and my friend's father's wakes were at the same funeral home across the hall from each other... She hopped from room to room to suppor both people.... it was quite funny after we realized that's what she was doing on the way home, but she's just a supportive person who wanted to be there for both people.

We actually had "crashers" at my uncles funeral.

They came to the lunch afterwards and made up some story about how they used to work with him (to people who actually worked with him) and then told other people they were a distant cousin...
