Spinoff to Confessions - Driving Confessions

Okay, here's my driving confession.

Once a guy in a marked truck (some random company) was driving like a lunatic, cutting people off, tailgating this poor old woman, etc.

I saw the "how do you like my driving?" sign on the back of the truck, and while I was driving, I reported him. The person on the phone thanked me for calling and said this particular person had a number of complaints against him. She said he'd be dealt with.

I can honestly admit to doing this a FEW times... Chat Icon

Anyone do this? Any other driving confessions?

my confession isn't too bad. i have to use cruise control so that i don't go over 68 mph - which I heard is the fastest you can drive around LI without getting pulled over. not sure how true that is though Chat Icon i'm such a lead foot!

Re: Spinoff to Confessions - Driving Confessions

some dude gave me the finger so I followed him around tailing him wherever he turned. He got scared enough and finally turned into a firehouse parking lot at which point I left him alone..drove around for 10 minutes following him.

I have done this also. A truck ran me off the road than gave ME the finger. I got his number from the back of his truck and reported him!

A lot of these confessions would be considered "Road Rage". I do whatever I can to avoid a potential accident or attack. In today's environment, you never know who is in the car you are "getting back at". I am in no means saying I am an ideal driver, I just don't play mind games with other psychos on the road....

Yes, please be careful. Although I am quite guilty of getting angry at others on the road I once had some guy cut me off and I mean almost missed my car cut me off. He tried beating the line of traffic by using the left turn only lane and the cutting over in front of me. So I blew the horn and gave him the finger Chat Icon and we got caught at the light. He gets OUT of his car and comes up to me yelling "Is there a problem?" "I say yeah, you f-in idiot! You cut me off and almost hit me?!?" His reply was "Give me the finger again and I am gonna break it" Chat Icon

I mean, who says that?!?!

Re: Spinoff to Confessions - Driving Confessions

I tend to get frustrated when I drive, but like a previous poster said, if it looks like it to could escalate to something potentaily dangerous, I stay away. Not worth it.

But I've given my share of fingers and yelled at more then one person.

OMGOSH this is so true. A few years ago I was sitting in evening rush hour traffic on the Southern State and this young girl, had to be early 20's, cut off this man, not intentionally, it's traffic so everyone is bobbing and weaving trying to make it move along. Well, he got so pisssed that he some how maneuvered his car and start to chase her... this poor girl was hysterical doing anything she could to get away, she started to drive on the shoulder... from that point on, I tried to be as careful as possible. I'm not without fault though because I most certainly take FULL advantage of the horn Saturn provided me with!!

edited for spelling.
