Spinoff to Bright/Red Cheeks

em's one cheek gets INSANE red (as i mentioned on pink&blue's thread).....and now - at times - it starts to look 'dirty' - like she has dirt around the red...but when i see that - i try to use wipes and NO dirt comes off...

what the heck??

(when i say insane red - i mean the darkest red i've seen - like MAROON dark)...

eta: i have been putting aquafor on both of her cheeks at night for about a week now - since they get SO red!

It might be eczema. DD had this and we brought her to a dermatologist - he prescribed an ointment that helped clear it up. here is a pic of when she had it. It kept spreading and was all over her face. We went to the Dr. about 3 days after this pic and it was worse!

that looks like her eczema rash - definitely - but that's not what this is - on her cheeks. this pic doesn't show the RED at its' reddest - but you can kinda see how it looks 'dirty'ish....

Re: Spinoff to Bright/Red Cheeks

my dd has what Jens daughter has -- she is 3 weeks old - I thought it was baby acne which my dr. said was one thing that I shouldn't worry about if it shows up. I guess I 'll ask - we have an appt. in a week and a half. Do you think its ok to wait until that appt. on 1/21? I wasn't worried, but now I am - great!Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff to Bright/Red Cheeks

thanks Jess!

Emma is absolutely adorable by the way - cuter and cuter with each pic I see! I always smile when I see you post.

Its just a few patches, but really looks like what Jen posted. There was one near her eye that worried me, but DH said it was there when we were at the pediatrician just this past Thursday, so I should relax!

I want to call the pediatrician over every single thing, but I know I need to learn not too... its so hard to know when.

Sorry to hijack your post - overtired!

have you seen pics of baby acne before? maybe do a google image search on that and then compare that to the pic above of jen's beautiful baby! if it's eczema - it can be controlled...via several means!

fm me with any ?? any time!

Jen- your baby is beautiful too - sorry I just gave Emma the compliments - too self involved and tired!
I've decided not to stress since we did just see the ped on thursday, and will again in 9 days.
