How does the doctor tell? By just feeling your belly, or by sono?

Both. Mine was able to tell by touch and confirmed with sono.

I didn't know the baby was breech until I was 31 weeks. It was confirmed via sonogram.

My first was breech. I could literally feel his head tucked up under my rib cage. My OB confirmed I was right.

At 28 weeks, my doc was able to tell by feeling my belly. He was right - it was confirmed by a sono.
