Spinoff to 04Bride's post....moms that had bigger babies at birth...

Emily was 9lbs 10 oz at birth and is now very petite. I would say that she is still tall, but is very thin.

If you had a big baby at birth, are then still a "big" toddler, or are they average or even petite?

Josh was 9.7. Always was a big baby...but now is totally slimming down.

He did not gain anything from 12 months to 15 months. He is now 50th percentile in weight, but still off the charts for height.

Andrew was 9.7 at birth (which was at 37w3d). He'll be 4 in a few weeks and I think he's totally average. I don't have stats, but by age 2, he started to even out (wasn't in 95% anymore).....

D was 8lbs 13 ozs at birth. She is now a very skinny toddler but still on the tall side I believe she is 90% for height and 50% for weight.

My guy is only 8 months, but he's already 'slimming' down. He was born at 11 pounds 8 oz and at 8 months is 20 pounds. I think he's near the 50% now for weight and was obviously off the chart at birth. And that's only in 8 months, but he was EBF for the first 6 months.

Although, he's still off the chart in height.

Re: Spinoff to 04Bride's post....moms that had bigger babies at birth...

I consider Rj big- since he was 3 weeks early and just about 8lbs...

He was born in the 90th percentile... and has dropped down into the 10th since then...

at his last visit we moved on up into the 25th percentile..

Ry is thin but about avg height.

Talia was 8.4 - which is pretty big considering I am pretty petite. She is now the smallest kid in the class in only 24 lbs at 2.5 years old. She is around the 5th percentile in height and weight...she's my peanut!

Re: Spinoff to 04Bride's post....moms that had bigger babies at birth...

Robbie and Noah were both 9 and a half at birth. Robbie was 22 inches an Noah was 21.

Robbie stayed above the 100th percentile throughout babyhood. He is now 7 and is just above average in height and a hair less than average in weight.. so he is tall and skinny.

Noah almost immediately started moving down the growth scale percentile wise. He was anywhere from 25th to 50th percentile in height and weight. At his last visit he was in about the 25th percentile for height and the 40th for weight.

One thing has stayed consistant with both of them... and that is that they are GORGEOUSChat Icon

Lucas was 8lbs 11oz and everyone in L&D commented on how big he was.

After 1 month he was constantly described as long and lean...still is at almost 1.

My oldest (10yrs old) was 9lbs 22inchs at birth and he was a big toddler as well but at 10 he is average height and weighing in at a big 68lbs. He wants to be 70lbs because his friends are all around 70-72lbs.

Michael was 8lbs 15 ozs at birth and at 20 months he is only 21 lbs. He is slim but very tall. He is wearing jeans from Old Navy size 6-12 months and even some of those fall down on him.

DS was 8lbs at birth. He has always been in his 50%. He is now 18mths and wears 12-18mths clothing. Some 18mths fall off him. I think he is perfect for his age. Chat Icon

Sydney was 9 10 at birth and 23 inches tall. She was really big which was surprising since DH and I arent. She stayed big all along. Now at 2 I see her slimming out and not growing as tall anymore. I am very curious how she will turn out.

DS was 9lbs 5oz, but after the first few months he really slimmed down. Now he's tall and skinny-always needs a belt! Chat Icon

DD was 9 lbs 4 ozs at birth (38 weeks) and 20 inches - she just turned 10 months on Sunday - and yesterday her ped measured her at 18 lbs 10 ozs and 28 inches. So she grew a lot in the beginning but has slowed down considerably. The ped is happy with how she is doing.

Her 3-6 month jeans still fit herChat Icon

DD was 9 lbs, 12 oz at birth. She was in the 95th percentile then. At 1 year now, she is slimming down, and in the 75th percentile. I think now that she is so active, she is losing the baby chubb!
