Spinoff-newborn shoot
How soon after birth do folks usually schedule the shoot? Are there some that shoot in the hospital?

My photog will come to the house within 10 days. At my hosp they have a photog and supposedly pics are nice. But baby still has bracelets and what not. And no props, so I would wait til I'm home.

Within 10 days of the birth the shoot should take place. (Unless you have a newborn like my son who NEVER slept! lmao)

With 2 weeks of birth when they are they sleepiest. And usually you would start looking and contacting photographers 3-6 months before your due date. The really popular ones book up quickly.
Others will have more openings and you can book anytime. And even with the popular ones ya never know they may have an opening.

I had to book mine a few months in advance to make sure the photographer has time in their schedule. When you have the baby they are usually done within 10 days.

what everyone said above. As far as the hospital they can't do "posed" newborn photography there but I am sure will be happy to offer more candid/moment type photos.
There are some that will even do birth photography but that can be tricky since not many hospitals allow it.

My photographer told me within 2 weeks was best, due to unforeseen circumstances we didn't get them done until he was 3 weeks, and he did great!!
