SPINOFF- HPV
I am hearing a lot about being tested for the HPV virus? Who should be tested and do most insurances cover this?

I would seek to see if ins does cover it. Most probably do now since it has become a common thing.
Everyone sexually active should be tested.

whether you use condoms or not- it can be passed on by skin contact

I saw a pamphlet at the doctor's yesterday that every woman over 30 should be tested annually but in some situations starting at 20. I didn't catch those situations since I am over 30.
I had it done in the summer and it was covered by my insurance.

Ask your doc about the ThinPrep Pap--it's your pap, with the HPV check. Mine is covered; I have Aetna

once u become sexually active, you should have a pap once per year to check for abnormalities
your insurance should cover this since it is part of a yearly check up at the gyno
