Spinoff--how often do you take baby...

out? for dinner and meals out? DH have been doing this more because the weather has been so nice. It also helps that Bella is extremely nosy and is easily entertained by waiters and other people in the restaurant.

We did it a couple of times in the very beginning, but I have t admit I was afraid of her freaking out in a restaurant and being THAT person...

now, I look forward to it and it gets us outta the house...

DH & I did it twice and DD was great! She slept mostly and she woke up as we were leaving. The car ride home was a little crazy because she wanted to eat and I breastfed her. I fed her before we left for the restaurant and as soon as we came home.

eta: I too did not want to be THAT person, so we went to a "kid friendly" place where if she did scream, it would not be a BIG deal. DH & I talked and agreed if we are going to go out and spend the $$, we will have family watch her and have some "alone time". Our DD is 9 weeks old, I am sure it will get eaiser as she gets older.

Almost never. DD is nosy too, and easily ammused - Like you, I just don't want to be one of those people...

We did take her car shopping this weekend, and she was wonderful.

We go out to eat about once a month-Jenna is usually good in restauraunts as long as she has crayons and paper!

We haven't yet, mainly because I'm scared of being "one of those people", I'm nervous she'll freak out. I would like to though.

When money allows, once a week. We've taken them both out since birth. We go almost anywhere too. I have no fear of people looking because I feel it's important for my children to learn how to behave. Honestly, we always get a compliement for how well they behave. Only once have I had to leave a restaurant and it's because my FIL insisted to go out to eat at 9PM when I knew it was much to late.

Well, I'm one of those people...if you see a screaming child..it's probably Jared. I get looks everywhere I go. I like to go out, but Jared gets bored easily...

I take him out every weekend and sometimes DH and I go out together with him. We only started to take him to restaurants when he was about 11 months old.

We take her everywhere. She is a great a baby. Since I got the OK from the doctor we took her to restauarants, shops, etc... so now she is totally used to it.

Maybe 2 or 3 times a month.... Nate is usually pretty good at restaurants. He makes friends very easily

Maybe once or twice a month. He's usually very good and easy to go out with because he likes going out. I think we need to do it more often though.

Since DH comes home after DS goes to bed and is working on the house on the weekends DS goes everywhere with me. I had a dinner rehersal 3 weeks ago and he was great at the resturant, nobody knew he was their and this past saturday we went to Fridays and he fell asleep. I started to feel more comfortable with letting him cry in public. I came to realize (even though he is only 3 months old) I can't stay in forever and I cant always leave the minute he gets cranky so I try to occupy him and if just seems to get worse and nothing works then I leave. I think it's important for children to be out no matter what age, they learn to socialize and I think they like to see new things.

2-3 times a month, but definately need to do it more often. She is so good and very nosy, so that keeps her busy the entire time.

Pretty often. I would say at least once a week. She's really good in restaurants so we can actually enjoy it when we bring her out with us.

We did this all the time with DS until recently. Now he is pretty restless and antsy and we are scarfing the food down our throats to get out of there and not enjoying the meal. I thought it would be the opposite.. hard at first but easier over time but it was very easy when he was young and now we hit a tough patch in the toddler years.

Oh my God - all the time! He eats like a manic when we're out and I love it!!!

We used to go all the time, one a week at least from birth to about 20 months, he ate great and I had my bag of goodies to entertain him.
Now that he's 2 and eating is not so exciting, nor is my bag of goodies... all he wants to do is run around the restaurant. So I think it'll be a few more months until he will sit nice through a meal again.

We take DD out as much as we can..... We took her recently to dinner (granted we went to dinner early 5:30pm) and she was great.

All the time.. We go out to dinner withmy parents every Friday, and the rest of the weekend we are out.. During the week I am out to lunch with him at least 2x a week. This has never been a problem for us... And even if Jacob is a little cranky we make sure to go to places that are kid-friendly...

Let's just say the diners in our area know us pretty well..
