spinoff: Belly Pics (Do you embrace your new shape)
Since getting pregnant, do you find you are less shy/self conscious about your curves?
Do you embrace your new shape?
ETA: I am finding that I love my belly! I was that typical person who would look at old pics and wish I was that skinny (even though I did not always think so at the time).
Once I got over the loss of control I have over my body, I found I am loving who I am and the baby I will soon have! I just hope my body bounces back afterwards.

Re: spinoff: Bare Belly Pics
I don't really understand what you're asking or the comparison part about being married.
But if you're asking... since you've become pregnant are you less shy with your body? well i would say yes and no. Right now i'm a little shy because to me, i don't have a clear baby belly yet. Right now it just looks like i ate too many ice creams. So i am a little shy about that.
But i don't think i will be that shy once i fill out.

Re: spinoff: Bare Belly Pics
I asked this question because people seem hesitant in showing their belly shots.
I think the bellies are beautiful! Peanut's inside!

Re: spinoff: Bare Belly Pics
Gotcha.
Well i think it depends on the circumstances. I mean i wouldn't just go topless at a beach. But i would take nude pictures for a purpose... like as a special gift for my husband or whatever. Just like the nude pictures pregnant... well it's kind of beyond just you. It's for the baby. So i don't think there's much focus on you and your body, but more so on your baby. Does that make sense?
To answer your question, i wouldn't have a problem posing nude for pregnancy pictures.

Re: spinoff: Bare Belly Pics
I'm not hesitant to show my bare belly, but that's all.
I am still self-conscious about the rest of my body and probably more so bc I have gained weight all over, am less toned due to not working out, pale bc of the winter, etc.
But I'm generally not happy with being photographed unless i know I'm in great shape.

Re: spinoff: Bare Belly Pics
Personally I wasn't very skinny before pregnancy so I definitely don't have an "all belly" kind of pregnancy. While I have actually lost weight, I am still not comfortable showing it off. My husband thinks I am sexy and loves my baby belly. That is good enough for me.
Also, I personally would NEVER pose for maternity shots. It just isn't me. Even when I was a skinny minny, I never wore a bikini. I am just more self conscious than others.

Re: spinoff: Bare Belly Pics
I guess maybe I phrased my question poorly.
I was more asking do you embrace your changing body?
I tried to use an example of my shyness before/after, I guess it did not come through.
I by no means am a skinny mini (lord knows the scale shows that), and watching my body change and not be as fit as prior has been emotional, but I am starting to love it.

Re: spinoff: Bare Belly Pics
I definitely think I am more open with my body now. I was not terribly shy about it before, but I wuold feel less shy about going topless now I think. I don't know exactly why, but I am less hesitant about showing off my belly now too even though it is 800x its normal size. I just think pregnancy is beautiful I guess....who knew?

Love my new (temporary) body and said just last night that I wish I could stay this shape forever! That said, I was always pretty comfortable with my body...

Re: spinoff: Belly Pics (Do you embrace your new shape)
I used to be very comfortable with my body...but I've been gradually gaining weight since moving over a year ago...I have no problem with gaining weight for the pregnancy, but I will not be showing up my bare belly to everyone...I already have strectch marks from gaining 40 unwanted lbs...and I'm sure more are to come but I am looking forward to having a cute round belly...I'll just have to recruit newlymrs to get my butt back in shape after the baby

Re: spinoff: Belly Pics (Do you embrace your new shape)
I think the really odd thing about it all is that when I was not PG, I LOVED looking at PG woman and thought they were so beautiful and when I see other PG woman now I still think that.
But do I love/embrace my own PG body - I don't think so. I mean, I do stare at myself in the mirror every chance I get because I am amazed at the changes and how quickly I am growing but I don't "love" the way I look.
I thought about the whole maternity photo thing and even went out and tried on a few select sexy maternity lingerie pieces, but when I looked in the mirror, I was still judging my fat thighs, etc.
I don't hate the way I look. I think I look cute enough PG, but I think I am just as critical and shy about showing my body off as ever. And probably more so, bc things like my flabby arms and thighs I can do something about not PG, but being PG, I can't say, "Oh, I'll just hit the gym extra hard for the next couple of months"
I think that it's great that you have embraced your body!! I wish I could do the same!

Re: spinoff: Belly Pics (Do you embrace your new shape)
Lately I've been looking at my wedding pictures from July and thinking what great shape I was in.
I personally am not really loving the whole pregnant belly look. I got several comments today about "how big" I am. One woman said she couldn't believe I have 13 weeks still left . I'm very petite so my whole mid-section is filled with baby - where else is this poor kid supposed to grow but outward? Anyway, I came home and asked DH if he thought I'm too big or put too much weight on, he said no. I'm also a bit concerned about the baby being too big. I want the baby to be a healthy weight so when people tell me things like "oh your going to have a big baby b/c your so big", it makes me feel like I'm not eating right and putting my child at risk. Probaby sounds crazy, and it went a little off topic, but basically - I'm happier when people say they can't tell b/c I'm wearing my coat.

Since I was a little pudgy pre pregnancy I am definitely embracing the bump and certainly more comfortable in my own skin.

Re: spinoff: Belly Pics (Do you embrace your new shape)
I didn't embrace it in the beginning because my bump was more lumpy and soft so I just felt fat. But now that I am nice and round, I love it. DH tells me my butt looks smaller now too. I think it just looks that way in comparison to my stomach.

ITA! I am blessed, I am all belly, and haven't gotten many stretch marks for which I'm thankful. It's just so hard to sleep now, and I think that's the thing that's hardest for me....

I am content with the way I look at 24 weeks. I was fortunate to lose my baby weight from baby #1, so I didnt start this pregnancy up in weight~

Re: spinoff: Belly Pics (Do you embrace your new shape)
It's the exact opposite with me. I'm really self-conscious about my body now and I wasn't really before. In fact, I won't even let DH see me naked.
I don't mind the belly because I know our baby is growing in there. It's the widening hips, the expanding butt, the legs and arms that seem to have grown, and my boobs that I actually prefer smaller. Plus, I have a bit of cellulite that I never had before which is probably the worst part.
I can't wait to go on a diet after I have this baby!

Re: spinoff: Belly Pics (Do you embrace your new shape)
i don't have a baby belly yet, just a food belly, but i love not worrying about dieting
i try to eat healthy but if i can't, i don't feel nearly as bad as i used to!!
and DH loves it, so that's all that matters to me.
