Spinoff: At what age should you start brusing their teeth?
DD is almost 11 months old and has 8 teeth. Should I be brushing them? I can't see her allowing me to do it.

Supposedly once you see the first tooth. I really just wiped their teeth with a washcloth after meals. Started the toothbrush around 12 mos

I used to clean DC gums before he had teeth and have been brushing since the first tooth showed. He doesnt always let me, but I get in there and do it anyway.

we use a toothbrush. I attempt to do it twice a day (he hates it). I started at around 9 mos (he had 8 teeth by then)

I wipe her teeth down after every meal with a gauze pad, then brush in the AM and at night. A month ago (at 11 months) I notcied her teeth were yellow and I took her to the dentist afraid of what was wrong. PEd previously said start brushing at a year. Anyway, it was plaque build up which is atypical for that age. They cleaned her teeth and since I have been wiping and brushing-- they are even whiter and the stains went away. I would recco anyone doing this to a- keep their teeth white and b- get them used to having their teeth brushed.

We've been doing it since 10-11 months. They only have 4-5 teeth.
