Spinoff - Gender Scan Accuracy
I went to get an early gender determination at 17w3d and i was told it was a girl. they showed me the infamous 3 lines, although i couldn't see them very well.
At my Anatomy scan at 19w2d, i was told that it was probably still a girl but they couldn't get a really clear shot. but that they didn't see a penis. so i guess that is reassuring.
How accurate can they be? I'm freaking out now thinking that they got our baby's gender wrong. I don't go back for the rest of my anatomy scan until Columbus Day and I pray they can give me a 100% that its a girl, because we had already told everyone and we already have a closet full of pink clothes! I'll be happy either way, as long as its healthy - up until we found out it was a girl, we were convinced that it was actually a boy

Re: Spinoff - Gender Scan Accuracy
Well with my DS his frank and beans were quite clear so we knew it was a boy...but I still asked when he was born is it a boy? Girls I think can be more difficult to see..you can always go get a 3D scan though

We did this, we had a 3D scan done at 17w3d and that is when they told us it was a girl. When i went in for another sono at 19w3d the sono tech at my Dr's office told us she couldn't see a penis so it looks like its a girl but she couldn't be sure

Re: Spinoff - Gender Scan Accuracy
I've heard its easier to make a mistake with a girl than a boy.
We had our gender determination at a 3d place at 16w and were told boy. Told boy again at 20w anatomy scan. 32w and he's still a boy.
I'm sure it all has to do with positioning and how well the equipment is working. Obviously those sonos are super clear so I don't think its an exact science.

I've heard about gender mixups, so while they said it's a girl at our 20 week, when i go in for my growth sono i'm going to have them double check.

Re: Spinoff - Gender Scan Accuracy
Well, at 12 weeks 5 days I had my NT scan and was told I am having a boy. The nub is clearing standing straight up in the pic. I will find out in a few weeks how accurate it was. I will be shocked if the sono and pic are wrong.

Re: Spinoff - Gender Scan Accuracy
i hear gender mixup are not that common, but do happen.
I SWORE baby #1 was a girl, it was a boy. I was almost positive baby #2 was a girl, they say its a boy. I have even had dreams that both were girls. My intuitions and dreams are wrong I guess!

My cousin was told boy, then at one of her final sonograms she was told it was a girl. This was after her shower, she had a lot of stuff to return lol
