When do you plan on going?
Do you pick pumpkins at the same time?

We plan to go apple picking at the milk pail next week. We let the kids get a small pumpkin too. We do our big pumpkin picking in October.

Re: spin off: apple picking
I think I'm skipping it this year - It's always been one of my favorite things to do out East - but the last few years it's been SO DAMN HOT !!!! It's like going to a football game when it's 95 degrees ........it's just not the same for me

I agree. I can't imagine going picking anything in this weather. It's more beach/pool weather I can just imagine the apples just rotting in the sun/heat
Or everyone wearing sweaters and jeans and boots to be "fallish" while picking these things in 90 degree heat.

Re: spin off: apple picking
We are going on Sunday - only because I love McIntosh. They are in season now. Otherwise, I would wait to do apple/pumpkin at the same time when its 30 degrees cooler

Agree with the heat-haters. Skipping apples, too hot! Pumpkins mid-October.

Re: spin off: apple picking
The heat brings the bees!! Last year I went to the milk pail which was the most expensive place I have gone too and the bees were everywhere. My DH is allergic so it was not a good time. It was hot, expensive and my kids were not happy. If it cools down a little we will go. Probably just stick to Lewins this year.

Are these places open during the week? We were thinking of going next week when schools are closed.
