Spider Webs!
I really try and keep up with the house work and keep a clean house. I am lucky to work from home and since the kids are usually busy and out of the house for camp, school, friends, etc it doesn't get too bad... sometimes. Anyway, as much as I clean and the house is nice before bed I find spiderwebs in corners so fast!! Ugh!!
I LOVE summer, but those bugs in the house gets me!! LOL! Anyone else find how fast these webs pop up?

Yes! I'm on a slab so every bug that would probably go to the basement is on my first floor! Drives me crazy!! In the fall the spiders slow down and the cave crickets start! I refuse to spray anything or getting an exterminator because we have young kids and pets. So I deal...

Spider Webs!
YES!!!! But I never disturb an unobtrusive spider's web because they eat other creepy crawly things, especially flies and mosquitoes which are the bane of my existence. Crickets however...that's another story.

I'm on a slab too and there is some kind of breech with my kitchen floor I think. I find SLUGS. Yep, SLUGS in my kitchen.
They skeeve me so bad. Even my cat, who will hunt and eat ANY bug (while it's still alive, mind you) won't go near those things!

Spider Webs!
I hate spiders and hate finding them in my house Especially the HUGE ones that come in as it starts to get cold out that survived all summer and had time to get really big. I think in my house they get in because we have window ACs and no matter how hard I try to seal them off all around the edges, there are always still small crevices that they find their way in thru. *Shiver*

Re: Spider Webs!
Small spiders don’t bother me. My cats won’t kill them; they are kind of useless at killing bugs.
But when I lived in Australia and you had the red back spiders (like a black widow), the funnel web spiders, and the huntsman spiders (they were as big as your hand), you stay away.
I remember marking papers with colleagues and a red back came crawling across the desk. Everyone backed away and was like there are probably more to come (they travel in groups).
You have at least 2 hours to get the anti-venom for the red backs. A funnelweb spider is another story. They hide inside your shoes and you can die if they bite within a half hour. The huntsman spider won’t hurt you too much even though they are huge. They first time I saw one, I thought it was a toy or something that my roommates played as a joke.
So when I see a small spider, I just let them be.

I kind of got used to it. They (red backs and Funnelwebs) were kind of rare, but you did see them around. I remember arriving in Sydney and my ex was that is the hospital nearby that you need to go to if you get bitten. I thought he was joking, but yeah, no.
The worst is the Huntsman spiders like to hide in cars, especially on the sun visors. They won’t hurt you, but they are giant. It kind of looks like a tarantula as big as the size of your hand. Every time I got in the car, I checked the visors.
If you go further up north, they have snakes— like poisonous snakes. Thank God I did not have to deal with that. The flying cockroaches are another story. I remember going out with a friend for drinks and I came back home and went to sleep. I woke up and saw this giant cockroach (think Palmetto bugs) by my bed at 4 AM. I tried to kill it, but it flew. It took a few tries, but I finally got it. It was still scary. I was like I need to get out of this country.
It’s completely normal to have these Palmetto bugs. It’s just a part of life there. Everyone has them (like 1-2 a week). The worst was when one of my cats killed this Palmetto bug and brought it up next to my bed as a gift. That was a lot of fun to wake up to. After that, they wouldn’t touch them. I don’t blame them. I’m glad I’m not there anymore.
