sperm count 0
Anybody's DH have a sperm count of 0?!
DH just got results of 0. He had back surgery 3 months ago and was on a course of steroids. Not sure if that could impact it... We are working with our internist now. DH is going back for bloodwork in a few days. The internist will check for problems with hormone levels. He said if hormones are fine, he'll send DH to urologist. If not, he'll treat with hormones. Anyone else have a similar situation? What was the course of treatment? Would you get suggest going right to RE or urologist at this point or is it ok to keep working with internist if DH has a good relationship with him?
Thanks!!

Re: sperm count 0
Hi,
First of all
Second - try not to worry - my DH had zero sperm 3 months ago and he is now back to normal levels
The first thing DH needs to do is find out why - which i think he is on the right path with the internist checking his levels. If they are normal then defiantely follow up with a urologist (have some recs if you need). Most problems are reversible/treatable - so there is lots of hope.
Just keep in mind that it takes 3 months to make sperm - so once you establish the problem and treat it - it might be a full 3 months before the sperm returns.
My DH had no sperm b/c of being on testosterone, which is basically the same reaction of being on steroids. My DH takes hcg shots 3x a week - this is the same stuff ball players use when they get off steroids to get their testosterone /sperm levels back up.
Feel free to FM me if you have any questions - i might be able to help since ive been dealing with this since january
Good luck

Re: sperm count 0
Some drugs like prednisone can effect male fertility. I would find out what steroid your DH was on and talk to a urologist/RE about it. male infertiliy
