Sperm and fever?
DH had pneumonia about 2.5 weeks ago, and he had a fever of 102/103 for about 4 days. We're scheduled for a fresh IVF cycle in December. Does anyone know what the time frame is for the sperm to be affected? I've heard 3 months, but not sure if that's true.
I'm seeing my RE on Thursday, so I will ask him, but now I'm a little nervous that we'll have to skip the next 2 cycles As if we don't have enough problems with his sperm, now this happens

Re: Sperm and fever?
I don't know that it really affects it that much - My DH had the swine flu with a very high fever (103 - 104) about a week before my IUI in June '09 - and I got pregnant with my DD.
God luck!!

Re: Sperm and fever?
yes, it def does have an affect. Sperm generation takes approx 3 months. So if he had a fever/infection, you can expect to see it in his counts approx 3 months later. It may not do much harm but u should talk to the Dr about your concerns. HTH!

Re: Sperm and fever?
My husband had hernia surgery last December and we did a fresh IVF cycle in February. He was on pain meds and antibiotics. I am now 36w . He does not have any known issues and his counts were very good on day of my retrieval. Wishing you lots of luck!!!
