Spent the night in L&D
Last night was a fun night spending 4 1/2 hours in LIJ L&D. I haven't been feeling "right" since Sunday which I just attributed to my shower (I will post all about that hopefully later Waiting on some pictures).
Since Sunday night, my back has really been killing me and I've had some very mild pains in my belly. I also noticed that my underwear was wet each day and had to change them a few times. I called my OB's office to see if losing bladder control could happen at this stage in pg and I was told it wasn't normal but to head over to L&D since they thought my water had broken.
DH & I both tried so hard not to panic since we lost our month old son to premature delivery from PROM. All I could think was thankfully we are much further along than last time and if DH hadn't kept me so calm and busy I probably really would have freaked out. I cannot tell you how scared I was that I would again have a preemie in the NICU and was praying she would survive if we had to deliver her.
Turns out that leaking a little bit of urine is completely normal during pg but they still had to run all the tests and do an exam. Without even drinking anything, my bladder filled up twice during my 2 hours on the table which they saw with ultrasound. I have no bladder infection and no leaking of fluid THANKFULLY but I do have to force myself to the bathroom every hour to avoid the wet underwear.
Also, my lower back and belly pain are due to the baby's positioning. She is still breech and facing my back. So at this point I should be feeling major kicks under the ribs, she is pressing on my back and beating me up back there. And her tushy is what is giving me the slight belly pains.
So after a very scary couple of hours I can say I am very happy that we have no leakage of fluid. I will be staying off my feet as much as I can the next few days though.
And I'll try to post shower pics later today!

Re: Spent the night in L&D
Im happy you are home. I know what you are going through.
My girls were born at 35 and 36 weeks and aside from an over night in the "special care" nursery, strictly for observation, they were good to go...althought the twins did have to stay a week in the nursery..again strictly for observation. (leaving them was so tough)...
