Spectra S2
If you have the Spectra S2, did you have to order anything else for it, than what it came with? I got mine today, and it came with 2 bottles. Do you think I need anything else than what it comes with? I know I need storage bags, but as far as pumping goes, will I be OK will just the 2 bottles?
Thanks!

Spectra S2
I've used it for 6 months and love it. I only use the two bottles it comes with to pump and then use Lansinoh storage freezer bags or medela bottles for storage in fridge.

Oh Ok great, so I won't pump more milk than the bottle can hold? I am not sure how much can actually come out at one time lol

You might. I do in the mornings the first pump after the night before. But I just dump some into a bottle. No biggie.

Re: Spectra S2
I have the Spectra S2 and like the others - if I'm lucky enough to need more than the one bottle, I just dump it into another bottle mid-pump.
I would also get a hands free bra - but that is not specific to this pump - just really useful.

Re: Spectra S2
For this pregnancy I also got a Spectra S2. Since DH and I had a ton of money left on our FSA accounts at the end of the year, I also purchased extra bottles, the adapters to fit standard bottles, extra flanges, and the carry tote.

Re: Spectra S2
It really depends on how often you plan to pump. Personally, I would get more bottles. I went back to work around 7 weeks and pump multiple times per day while I'm away. I bought extra bottles, skinny neck adapters (to make it work with my old medela bottles), and flange sets. As a side note, if there's something you need that's not on their web site, just call them and they can tell you the price and ship it to you. Also, MAM nipples and Avent classic nipples work with the spectra bottles (much cheaper than buying from Spectra). I've been using the S1 and S2 for 4 months now and like these pumps much more than my Medela PISA.

Another ques- Can an avent classic or mam bottle attach directly to the pump so that you would only have to buy the screw on tops to use them as both collection bottles and then also to feed the baby? If not, where do you buy the skinny neck adapters so that I could use my old medelas to pump into/store in fridge? I looked on Amazon and the spectra website but am not seeing anything. Thanks!

Thanks! I dont think the website was working correctly because I couldn't get to page 2 before!! Also, does anyone have any experience with using the skinny neck adapters and getting less suction? I read someone where a mom felt like with the adapters on, she didnt get the same amount of milk.

No clue but why don't you just pump into the bottles it comes with and pour into other bottles or bags

Spectra S2
It only came with 2 bottles and ive always pumped more than that out in the mornings so I was trying to avoid buying new spectras because I have over 10 medelas saved from my older kids. I should have just stuck with the medela pump again and avoided all this confusion!

I also pump more than the two bottles right when I wake up. I just pour it into a dr. Brown bottle or freezer bag and continue pumping.

I have no issues with the skinny neck adapters and suction using medela bottles.

I screw avent classic bottles directly into the pump sometimes as well. If you need to pump more milk than the spectra bottles hold, then the classic bottles work well. I bought the skinny neck adapters on Spectra's web site.
