Speacking of gender colors
I don't mind getting my nieces stuff that are girly colors b/c that's what they like. I do hate trying to get more boyish color utensils or plates and they always have to throw some pink and purple spoons in the package. Also, I can get neutral color bowls or sippy cups.
I have two boys. I don't mind giving my son a purple sippy and spoon at home, but I don't use them for going out. Of course my 2 yr old could care less, but just wondering if anyone notices the same thing? Especially those with boys.

Re: Speacking of gender colors
I have a son and I'm also annoyed that they don't have a regular neutral palette for a lot of those spoon, cup, and plate sets! lol. At home I'll feed him with the pink spoon, who cares. But I'll be honest and say it doesn't go in my diaper bag for going out, lol. Not a huge deal, but I just don't get why they don't do a set with non-gender specific colors that can work for everyone.

I guess I see what you mean because it seems there is always a purple in the package of bowls and always a pink with the spoons. The packs of sippies always seem to be gender specific though.
I really couldn't care any less if I happened to bring out out a purple and pink combo for my son though--I think when people see his two older sisters they get it.
