spa question

I just got my bfp yesterday. Preggo calendar says 5 weeks. I have an appointment Monday for massage and facial. Can I still go or is it a big no-no with a preggo person?

Re: spa question

I'd still go...i went the day before i got my BFP... I'd like to think that being relaxed helped get my pregnancy off on the right foot

The masseuse should know.

Re: spa question

Any legit masseuse will know what's safe and what's not. For example, any massage on your stomach, lower abdomen is not safe. So you have to tell the spa. However, I know some spas will not give massages that early on in your pregnancy for liability reasons. I'd call ahead of time to be safe.

For me pesonally, I'd probably wait until you're farther along.

Call the spa and see what their policy is- every spa is different.

I do not know what to do about this spa....its a group on n it expires Jan 15 but I will only be 11 weeks so not out of my first trimester. I can't cancel BC my mom doesn't know yet that I'm preggo. We are going togethrr. I called and asked about doing a prenatal massage they said yes but they didn't ask how far along. I'll be only 5 weeks 5 days but then. Do you think I will be OK?

I went a day after bfp. If you tell spa they prob won't want to touch you, for liability reasons.

Most places will not let you get one without approval from the dr.

This exactly. It won't cause a miscarriage but since it is more common in the first tri most spas wont give a massage bc of the liability of you blaming then. I personally would wait until the second tri and go to a massage therapist who is licenses in prenatal. Trust me, not everyone is.
