Southwest Airlines
Never flown on Southwest but considering booking our flights for our cruise out of Port Canaveral possibly on Southwest(hubby prefers JetBlue but we'll see). If we do Southwest we would fly nonstop out of Islip. We will be traveling with our kids so do they have any video/audio entertainment like JetBlue? Wifi? Snacks? Anything for me to choose Southwest over JetBlue?

If you live closer to Southwest, the main perk is not have to drive all the way to JFK for Jet Blue. I would choose Southwest over Jet Blue anyday just for that. Southwest does not have any change fees, or charge for bags like Jet Blue. They have snacks and drinks. You can connect on your own device to their in flight entertainment system and watch certain things for free. WiFi is not free.

We are actually closer to JFK since we are in South Nassau County, but I was willing to go the distance if it's just as kid friendly.

Then go with Jetblue. I hate SW boarding system. I only overlook that for tbe convenience of Islip but if you are closer to jfk i would do jet blue all the time. Plus you pay more imo for flights out of islip. Again for me it's worth it because i live less than 5 min from there.

I would only go with Southwest then if it's substantially cheaper. It's a great airline and has many perks (no change fees, free bags, etc) but, if it's not as convenient...

Re: Southwest Airlines
We fly SW from Islip to FL, nonstop, and we love it. It's cheap and easy and we've never had an issue with the boarding process. Families with kids ALWAYS board between Group A and B no matter what and the plane at that point is almost still empty. Also, you can pay an extra $15/per ticket and get the Early Bird option, EVERY time we've used Early Bird we got "A" boarding. Never had a problem getting seat all together for the 4 of us. They also auto check you in.
The SW is amazing too, I rack up points like crazy. On our last trip I had enough points to fly us all round trip for FREE!
