Re: Sound familiar?
I have a friend who drank the entire preg. She didnt drink a lot but a glass of wine here and there... me personally think its not worth it. It could be that the small of any alcohol gets me very sick!

Re: Sound familiar?
I read that article. sorry.. but really to write a blog about someone who drank a quarter of a glass of champage????
There are far better things to b~tch about people doing. I mean if someone was drinking beers in a row or had MULTIPLE glasses of alcohol. Not a sip.
I have not had a single sip of alcohol while pregnant, but I wouldn't be super disturbed by someone having a quarter of a glass of champagne... or even a full glass of wine.

Re: Sound familiar?
I missed the threads you are referring to but the author of this article is judgmental and neurotic. A 1/4 of a glass of champagne? Seriously? It bothered her ALL NIGHT? I enjoyed many of the comments posted. I wonder if she was injured being knocked off her high horse.
I drink a glass of red wine on occasion. Women in Europe drink a glass all the time. My doctor said it's fine. My doctor also said to eat fish which this author was against as well. Having 1 (not the whole 750 ml) glass of wine on a special occasion is not going to harm the baby. To each their own but the way people talk about what they crave and the processed crap they eat, I'm sure that's not any better for the baby.

Re: Sound familiar?
yeah a 1/4 of a glass...not a big deal. I personally dont drink at all while pregnant (well except for 1 sip of DH's wine on NYE) but I dont see the big deal about 1/4 of a glass. on another note, this woman says she didnt eat cheese while pregnant!? I think that is weirder than 1/4 glass of champagne!

Re: Sound familiar?
She sounds hostile to me and because she is not a drinker anyway, leads me to believe that she is against drinking all together. I have had friends that drank, I myself have not had any alcohol, but have heard that when you are near the end of your pregnancy, its not a big deal because the baby is fully developed. She seems like she is high strung.

Re: Sound familiar?
I really don't think it's her business. It's just a quarter glass.
I get crap from people about drinking coffee. I've been told I'm allowed to drink a cup a day. I don't want to be judged for it!

Re: Sound familiar?
It's really not any of the writers business, and 1/4 glass is hardly anything to be concerned over.
Everyone gets different advice from their doctors, and chooses to do what they're most comfortable with.

Re: Sound familiar?
1/4 glass of champagne over 9 months of pregnancy is nothing.
My cousin's OB actually told her a glass of white wine is ok.

Re: Sound familiar?
My mom's OB "prescribed" a glass of wine a day during the last few weeks of her pregnancy with my brother because he was so big and active and putting a strain on her uterus.
This lady needs to calm down and worry about her life, not everyone else's.
