SOS - How do we Stop Our Squirrels?!
Seriously...I have no clue what's going on in our area, but I think every squirrel in the USA is in our yard! 
We have a LOT of trees on our property...a LOT! You can actually see all the trees moving with them all running & jumping around.
I sit in the house with the window shut and hear them squawking away...it's such a creepy sound.
They've chased all our beautiful birds away too. 
We even started taking the bird feeders down because we're trying to get rid of anything that will attract them. I will not be happy if they start attacking my veggie either
Does anyone have any advise on how to rid your property of ummm...2 dozen screaming squirrels? I really don't mind one or two, but when we're afraid to go outside because they're jumping around our heads...umm..I think it's a problem.

I have extra squirrels too this year, we have a litter of 5 babies that were born tis spring & they are always in my yard somewhere. My dog loves to chase them, so that helps.
I buy inexpensive cayenne pepper at the dollar store & sprinkle it on all my bird feeders & anything else I don't want them near. You have reapply after it rains or after your sprinlers come on, but it works.
The wild birds don't mind spices but squirrels hate it.
I had two of them screaming at eachother a little while ago.

Thank you Kelly! I was going to FM you, because I know you have great advice!
Do they eventually go away?...this is just too much!
Thankfully ALL my neighbors have dogs - behind us, to the left, to the right and even across the street. I think I may ask them all to put their dogs out in my yard to chase them away!
Ok! I'm off to the store to buy GALLONS of cayenne pepper!

You can also squirt them with the hose, when my dog doesn't chase them I walk towrad them clapping my hands really loudly, you guys just have to make them intimidated by humans. Squirrels now are fearless.

Lori- My parents had this problem at their house uptate. My Dad bought a 3 set bird feeder for various different seeds and bought black pepper and mixed it with the seeds. It doesn't hurt the birds, but when squirrels eat it, it fires up their mouth and they ran away.
Also, when you get a feeder, get a circular cone to go around the middle of the pole. It will keep the squirrels away from the feeder as long as you keep any tree branchs, roof tops from being close by for the squirrels to jump from to get to the feeder!

Racoons have been prevalent at my BILs place as well. He rents, though and complained to the homeowner he rents from. They purchased coyote urine and spread it around the perimeter of the yard and now they have avoided the house.
Also, call your local animal control. They'll come and take care of the issue - set up traps, etc and then transport the animals to non-human areas.
