sorta lengthly/strange question about AF after lupron
i have a regular 28-day cycle. i am 'due' to get AF this Friday, on CD28. This is only my 2nd day using lupron and if i look at my calendar, this Friday i will be using lupron for 7 days, total.
1. would this cause me to get my period sooner or later?
2. do i keep taking it when i spot? i usually spot the day before the full-flow.
3. how many people take lupron and follistim at the same time?
those that are cornell patients, am i suppose to call them when i get my AF?
sorry for the annoying questions! i am paranoid and excited to just get started on the retrieval, etc!
thanks!

Re: sorta lengthly/strange question about AF after lupron
I always had 28 day cycles...when I did Lupron I got AF about 8 days later (anywhere from 7 to 10 days is normal)....remember that this cycle will be different than any other since it is medicated......
Do not stop Lupron when you start spotting or get AF....once you get full flow (CD1) call Cornell to let them know you got AF...they will tell you to come in on CD3 for blood work....based on your E2 levels you will be able to start Follistim that day (or not if you still need to be more surpressed)....you will continue taking Lupron together with Follistim until trigger (Lupron prevents you from O on your own), I had the same protocol (the easiest off all)....depending how you stim you will continue for 7-12 days on it and then trigger.....
Wanted to add that I was not on BCP...only Lupron (a week after LH surge) and then Follistim (just like you)
GL!!

Re: sorta lengthly/strange question about AF after lupron
I was on a BCP/Lupron protocol, so I didn't have a natural cycle. I just got AF 3 days after stopping the BCP and which would be 8 days after starting Lupron. I was also on Lupron throughout my stim cycle, so I never stopped taking it, they just dropped my dosage.

Re: sorta lengthly/strange question about AF after lupron
I've been on BC since late July (when I got AF in July we decided to move to IVF so that is why RE put me on it).
I am on BC/Lupron now. I take my last BCP tonight.
1. would this cause me to get my period sooner or later? Not sure..bc I am on BC AF should be here 2-3 days after I stop (Thurs or Fri)
2. do i keep taking it when i spot? i usually spot the day before the full-flow. I would think so but ask your nurse. For my protocol I will be on Lupron until my ER.
3. how many people take lupron and follistim at the same time? See answer to question 2.

the cd3 testing for cornell is only in the city office (my doc - dr. goldschlag is affiliated w/ cornell). I went Sunday morn. early for my cd3 testing and the ride was not bad at all it is right on the east river on the upper east side
