It was all over the news here in Dallas yesterday that he didn't show up for the match. One woman paid $1500 to attend just so her kids could "see" Beckham. Dallas mom's were pisssed.

Unfortunately, no. Her "kids" are quantity of 2. She had to shell out the cash so she could impress the other PTA / Bunco ladies with her superior knowledge of Beckham.

I don't get the whole thing. They bring him here, pay him oodles of moolah in the hopes that soccer will become as big as say baseball?
he is really getting paid for nothing. It will never have the same fan base as American sports here. It just won't.

He has an ankle injury and if they don't allow to heal properly it will just get worse and then he won't be able to play for ages, they are actually protecting their investment by leaving him on the bench for the moment. That information was courtesy of my DH
