sorry WR: great proposal!!
oh man!
so... DHs best friend ( who was best man in our wedding) is gettnig engaged soon. we knew they were ring shopping and stuff, and thought he was gonna do it in december when a group of us usually go to see the tree at rockefellar ( she told him she wants an audience when he proposes-LOL)
so... he confided in DH and i the other day that their 4 year anniversary is coming up in november and he booked a long weekend trip for the 2 of them to PARIS!!! and hes gonna do it there!! hes not telling her where they are going, either or even what she needs to pack- LOL. he told her pack 2 bags one with warm weather clothes and one with cooler weather clothes and he'll tell her that day what she needs... LOL they have a layover in chicago, so shes not even gonna know till they get there where they are going!
AND, hes gonna just keep playingn it up from now till then like " i haven't been able to order the ring" " the jeweler hasn't gotten back to me" etc hes even gonna hvae her parents right before they leave for the trip say " why hasn't jon asked us for yuor hand yet? i thought you guys picked out the ring..." LOL its gonna be great!
DH and i are the only ones in our group of friends that knows the real plan... so cool

yeah- i think its gonna be great! hes going all out for the whole thing becasue they haven't gone on vacation together in a couple years, hes only bought her one peice of jewelry the whole 5 years they've been dating, he really hasn't bought her any huge gifts sine they've been together and shes been workign her butt off to finsh her PHD program early so they can get married sooner

yup- LOL the 4 of us went on a cruise about 4 years ago so she still has one from then and... hes from taiwan so they've been back there a couple times so she won't thuink much of it if he tells her to pack it...

That is SO nice. But how will he keep it a secret on the plane?? Doesnt it say where you are going when you board the plane? And when you get on the plane, dont they announce it??? He better blindfold her and make her wear headphones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If she wants an audience - I'd say she has a captive one on the plane. I have heard of the Captain asking Passenger in Seat 4A would like to ask Passenger in Seat 4B to marry them...
