It should just be a strong odor. If it smells foul you could have an infection and should call your Dr asap.

It's normal to have a strong odor. If it is accompanied by unusual discharge, I would call the doctor.
What helps for me is to use feminine powder on my underwear and panti-liner. sometimes I also use the feminine deodorant just to freshen things up
