Re: sorry guys.. question about getting satellite radio....

I bought FH Sirius last year for his birthday.

I got him the sports one - its very easy to set up in the car (everythign came with it)

then I got him a giftcard to use for his monthly service.

For christmas I got him the boombox that you can put it in so he can listen to it at home .

Re: sorry guys.. question about getting satellite radio....

I know that Sirius needs to be set up in the car with a few wires. It didn't take DH very long to do (but he's handy).
IF you buy the basic car kit (if it's not already listed as part of the package) you will have all you need.

ETA: If you don't want to spend $$ on the boombox, you can buy the home kit and it will allow you to listen to Sirius through any radio in your home that you hook it up to.

Get the sporster. The wires are easy to remove, so you should be fine. Some of the newer radios actually have an input for Sirius, so he may get lucky.
The Sirius gift cards can be used for service.

If he's even semi-handy he should have no problem installing. DH had it in one car, then sold it and bought a new one and had it in the new car within an hour.
He won't have to have it professionally installed.

Have fun with it!!

Re: sorry guys.. question about getting satellite radio....updated BOUGHT one online but...

Dh set his sirrus up himself in literally less then 3-4 minutes tops. It was one wire, pop it in.
Its not HARD at all. I wouldnt waste any money on installing it.

P.s He has the sportster as well

Also it pops right out, so it doesnt matter if you arent keeping the car. ITs not like a serious installation process at all.

Also- I bought DH a home docking base..It connects to our current stereo. It was like $40 I think. And he brings the radio between the car and the house all the time. It pops right out of either base ( car or home)
