Sorry.. but, another CIO question...
So last night was night two of dropping the night feeding with the Ferber method. THe first night... He didn't cry.. He woke up about 5 times.. I gave the paci and he went back to sleep..
Then there was last night... He woke up at 1ish. DH was on duty. He changed him, gave him water and put him down with the paci. He went to sleep.
He woke up once more.. cried for a minute or two. DH gave the paci and he went to sleep.
Then he woke up at 4 am. Screamed for about 30-40 minutes. Then he went to sleep for about 40 minutes.
I was sleeping on the couch so I didn't know what was going on.. but, he woke again at 5:30. We normally get up at 6am. DH let him cry. So at 6 he was hysterical. He was starving. I told Dh that IMO anything after 5 am.. he should be allowed to wake up because he is probably hungry and becasue on a work day we can't follow through past 6 am anyway. NOW I am worried that we screwed it up because at 6:10 I picked him up and nursed him. Poor baby.
WWYD? I am going to call the ped today to ask his opinion. At what point do you just allow them to 'wake up"?

That close to wake up time I would feed him then put him down again until he absolutely had to get up.

IMO you guys did nothing wrong. I mean, maybe you could have fed him at 5am but no harm was done. These things are really a matter of opinion

I agree....
Your DS is 5 months right? My ped told me to do the same thing at 5 months, down to the bottle of water and all..
It worked temporarily, but then it didn't, and we were CIO failures until DS was one..I honestly think he was still hungry at that age (he was never a big formula eater...so it was hard for me to just not feed him)
