Re: Sore butt cheeks

I use EMLA cream so I don't feel the needle going (it numbs the skin) and then my hubby massages the area for 2-3 minutes and I have zero soreness. The massaging works!

Re: Sore butt cheeks

i didnt ice because i thought that was just to numb the needle going in. It doesnt hurt on the surface going in, like when it breaks through the skin. But once it hits that muscle - OWWWWWW

I also thought ice wasnt the best for absorbtion
Do you get sore at all the next day?

Re: Sore butt cheeks

I had very little soreness.

I iced for about 15 mins before. Then did the shot then heating pad for about 15 mins after.

Re: Sore butt cheeks

Hmmm...are you also relaxing the muscle before the shot by leaning on something with you leg slightly bent (to release the mucle). I was told not to ice because its an oil based shot and oil co-agulates when cold and you could have trouble dispersing it once injected. But, once you are sore its gonna be hard at this point to fix it. I try to massage it all the time.

Do you feel a lump under your skin? Or is it just black & blue?

When you go to do the shot tonight, have your husband move the needle as far away from the last shot area as he can. Making sure, of course that its still in the correct area.

Is he going in straight?

No lump or black & blue, it literally feels like muscle soreness. Like over worked the glutes at the gym or something.
The one from sat that will get stuck again tonight is feeling better, not quite 100% but much better.
Im going to try the relaxing muscle tip tonight. lean over legs slightly bent.
wish me luck & thanks for all the advice!!

I know how you feel, it's like you were kicked by a horse but there is no physical mark. The key is massaging!

SOrry for not updating. But the bending knees & leaning over really worked on mon. It didnt hurt at all during the shot.
Still sore the next day, but the soreness only seems to last 36 hours or so, so im not that concerned.

im going in for a progesterone check on Fri so we will find out if we have been injecting it right & then the big test next friday.

10 days and counting!!!!

Thanks Again!!!
