Soooo sad... but please take a lesson from this.
So, my brother's friend passed away on Monday. She was the mother of my 7-year old nephew's little "girlfriend". She had been battling breast cancer since her daughter was 18 months old. I didn't know her, but this whole thing has consumed my thoughts and I tear up every time I think of her family - especially her little girl without her.
Apparently, this woman was "Super Mom". Just a FANTASTIC mother.
I don't know if this was or wasn't the reason why the cancer progressed so much in the beginning and I'm not going to pretend that I know... the only thing I do worry about and hope to bring to whoever I tell and whoever reads this is to be sure to take care of yourself after your LO is born.
No matter how busy you are, continue to get check ups, continue to get pap smears and breast exams - it is THE most important thing you can do for your family. Don't put off appointments. Take care of your health FOR your family.
I pray for that little girl who is now without her mommy... it truly breaks my heart. And it's also so sad that - at 7 years old - it's something she and all her little friends can't even really grasp yet. I pray for her husband who must feel utterly lost. I ask for your prayers, too. Thank you and take care of yourselves!
