Sooo proud of Jordan
I just have to share this:
Jordan has been sucking her fingers(middle and ring) pretty much since birth. From about the age of 3 or 4 we have been trying to get her to stop. She is so hard core that her fingernails have fallen off. She is now ten. Over the years, we tried every product on her fingers and nothing worked. She has wanted to stop desperately for the past 2-3 years and has struggled. We have bribed her with everything under the sun. About 2 months ago she asked me to help her. By reminding her etc.(usually this is a no no ) I told her that if she can stop for 3 months that we will paint her room blue(she has been begging for this) We have been working together and over the past 8 weeks she has been almost totally finger free She has had a few very quick slips, but nothing major. I am just so proud of her. You can not image how hard this has been for her and how sad she has been about being 10 and still sucking her fingers. I am one proud Mama!!!! I am hoping the next 4 weeks go well and I can give her, her reward
ETA: i have a little guilt too because she stopped for 2 months once before and the day we told her that we were p/g with Peyton she stuck them back in her mouth and never looked back

i know exactly how hard it was for her, i sucked my thumb until i was 10+

Way to go!!!!! Great job btw with that bribe!!!! !!!! Sounds like it's been a struggle, and if she does fully break herself I say a new color in her room, and maybe a mani/pedi with mama!!!!

Yay Jordan! This is a huge accomplishment! I was also a thumb sucker and stopped at 10. It is hard, but doable!

That is really amazing You should be so pround of her! My DD loves her thumb and I can only imagine how hard it is going to be one day for her to stop!

The bad part is I have a 2(almost 3)yr old that is a hard core thumb sucker too So I will be going through this again at some point
