I thought at 20 weeks it was the anatomy scan and gender was confirmed then.

sono?

At 20 weeks the chances of them being wrong are very little. if you said 15/16 weeks then i would say go for an outside sono to be sure. i get your point, and mistakes do happen, but i wouldnt worry too much!!

For many people, 20w is their final u/s. It's pretty obvious by then so the gender should be accurate. If you're really unsure, just go to an ultrasound center and pay for the gender reveal - though personally this seems like a waste of money to me since you already know.

My insurance only covered 3 sonos, so my last was at 20 weeks. I've also been nervous about the gender being read wrong, but nothing I can really do about it at this point. I'm 38w5d and only have girl stuff. Fingers crossed!

Re: sono?

It'll cost $ but you can always get a 3D u/s which will clear up any of your doubts.

Re: sono?

I just had my 30 week growth sono. I waited until after this appt to order anything with our baby's name on it, just to be sure. Same gender. And even this time, I could even tell clear as day that it was a girl.

Why rush to give stuff away if you are unsure? If you need to make room, and money isn't a concern, pay for a gender sono. It's always fun seeing the baby again!

If you are nervous save the boy stuff.... but normally by 20 weeks they know for sure.

I agree with this... save a few things if it will make you feel better.

sono?

I think the chances of them messing up are very slim. However, for piece of mind you could always call the doctor and ask, or go to a 3d place.

I just had a sono recently (around 30 weeks) because LO wasn't moving much and the doctors were concerned. Turns out, he's just in a bad position where I can't feel him much! Every time I've gotten a sono (I've had 11 because DS is very uncooperative!) they've confirmed gender. I found out at 16 weeks and he's always been a boy since then!
