Something to do...

Our anniversary is this weekend and we are going out to dinner and then... what? Any suggestions for what we could after? We'd like to stay around Nassau/Western Suffolk/Queens border though the city is not totally out.

I know we should have planned this already but we were considering staying overnight in a hotel - but it's not definite yet (we have to see about the babysitting situation with that) and I'd like to have another plan if that falls through.

Any suggestions? We don't want to go see a movie...

But after would be so much more...memorable! Chat Icon

Hm, if you're into historic sites, it might be fun to visit Old Bethpage Restoration, or Sagamore Hill (hope that's the right name, Teddy Roosevelt's house in Oyster Bay).

ETA- I guess that would be something you'd do before dinner.

Pack a picnic and go to the Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale. So beautiful there.

Go to Huntington or Oyster Bay and walk around. You could go get a drink or ice cream - there is now a Stone Cold creamery in Huntington. They also have horse drawn carriage rides...

I'm a city girl- and there are tons of things you can do here- a horse and buggy ride around central park, catching a show, dancing at an old school place, like barbetta with a band and dance floor- or a place like Swing 46 which is a supper club with swing dancing....

DH & I love bowling so I would say have dinner & then maybe Ice-Cream and go bowling. Or Jillian's. That place is always fun. Stone Cold Creamery is right next door @ the source. Chat Icon
