Something I wonder
So I was checking out the celebrity board and noticed all these woman celebrities wearing these obnoxious floppy hats to the Kentucky Derby. Okay, so this is the fashion "thing" to do, but my question is... Do all these floppy hats become a distraction to spectators? I can only imagine being at the Kentucky Derby in the middle of a slew of a floppy hats.
Just a thought.....

As a shorty, I'd be angry if something that ugly was blocking my view.

Re: Something I wonder
I haven't been to the Derby but love seeing the hats. I always wondered how people see over them or get bumped alot.

I guess its a southern thing to do? Actually it started overseas. It is a very old tradition from centuries ago. I am not sure what started it, but I have heard stories of my great-great aunties in England watching the horse races with these ridiculous hats. It was about 1880s or so, I think my Auntie in England has some portraits of them....

Like in the scene from My Fair Lady where she's wearing the black and white gown and has that huge hat on her head! I love this stuff!!
