Someone help me out please......
Here are the facts- my LMP began on 2/20, I had positive opk's on 3/6 and 3/7. BFP on HPT 3/17... Line was VERY faint, but a little darker the next morning. My cycle is 32 days, not 28. Due to some past miscarriages, I went in for bloodwork yesterday. Dr called and said my HCG levels are lower than they should be. He said I'm 4w4d. HCG is 8.5 but how can I be 4w4d already? I thought more like 3w4d. As soon as he said ' threatened miscarriage' I lost it. I have an appointment tomorrow for my levels to be checked again, but is my math off or is his? I'm so scared that this is happening again  I am having no symptoms to point towards a m/c, HPT's are still coming up positive. Is it possible this Dr is just jumping the gun? Or am I being naive? Any advice is welcome...

Its so early on that the Dr can only make an estimate so its not that he is jumping the gun, he can only estimate how far along you are. Especially that they cant even do a sono yet because its sooo early, all they can do is base it on when your LMP plus cycle and your blood work...
ETA: I hope everything works out for you. Sorry you are going through this I know it can be very painful and frustrating because you have to wait for answers...

beta of 8.5 is very low. under 5 is considered not pregnant. 8.5 is very very low but still possible just very early if your dates are off and you didn't O until maybe the 9th or so. did the dr. order another beta for tomorrow? you should have at least 2 betas 48 hours apart to see if the number is rising and doubling. if it is, then it is def possible you are just very very early in pregnancy.
the one thing that i would caution about is that you got a darker HPT a few days ago. in general HPTs will give only the faintest of lines with betas under 10-15. so if your beta was high enough to give a darker line a few days ago, and your bloodwork is showing an 8.5, it could be dropping already which would signify a chemical pregnancy. overall it does sound like a chemical because of the beta being so low, BUT you def have a chance of it being a normal pregnancy if the beta continues to rise normally. also, HPTs aren't diagnostic so the darker test could have been a fluke.
you are 4w4d because by technicality 3w4d would be ~4d after ovulation and you wouldn't know you were pregnant yet. in general you don't even find out you are pregnant yet until you are technically 4w because they count from LMP.

I had a very low first beta of 13 and my dr told me the same and unfortunately she ended up being right and my numbers rose very slowly and than eventually declined. I do have a friend who had her first beta only be a 12 and now has a beautiful 17 month old dd. Its one of those wait and see situations really. Best of luck to you.

I am hoping everything is okay!!
My cycles, like yours are longer. When I went for my first sono I measured 8 weeks but since there wasn't a full week from my LMP and the measurement the doc said I was 8w6d. It could be the same case for you!

I take it as you are 4 weeks 2 days as per LMP. I agree the number is low but maybe you has a slow moving egg! Stay positive!
