Someone call CPS on me!

I am having such a bad week. It started with me going back to work (teaching kinder) and having the worst class I've ever had in 9 years teaching kinder- but ok- that's do-able.

Then on Friday I had a mother (not in my class) sneak into the building and start screaming at me saying "are you the one who disciplined my daughter on bus duty yesterday?" ME- ahhh what? Who are you and how did you get in? I don't know what you are talking about (I was soooo flustered by her screaming at me while my kids are coming into my room). I escorted her out of the building and called the teacher who this maniac's child is in the class. After talking to this teacher I remembered that I did tell a girl to stop being disrespectful to teachers (she was being a you know what to all the teachers). Well, this mother is accusing me of screaming at her daughter. I didn't and had witnesses. So there is your first case for CPS on me this week. Our principal is taking care of the mother for me sincew she is wrong in so many ways.

Now here's my worst CPS expierence:

Yesterday I put my DD on our bed (king size) in the middle while I put away my DH's clothes. I turned my back for a sec. and heard a loud thud and my heart sank. As I turned I heard screaming. My poor DD managed to lunge herself off the bed and fell to the floor. She didn't stop crying for a long time. I put ice on it and my neighbor came over to calm me down. DD is fine. I was so scared and learned that I can't turn my back on her anymore for a sec. I am still so sick to my stomach about it. I called the Dr. but he wasn't concerend b/c she was eating fine and where the bump was. Luckily this morning the bump is gone and you can't tell anything happened.

I'm sorry you're having a bad week!!! My DS fell off the bed too at about the same age - it's terrible but it's so common!!! (find my "guilt book" thread ) and then 2 weeks later he hit his head on the floor while I was playing with him. It's just the beginning - we all go thru it...you're not the only one!!!

Don't feel bad about that parent being Pi$$ed -- you clearly did nothing wrong.

I had an incident teaching this week too -- you can FM me about it since I'm not going to hijack your thread...

And don't feel bad abot your daughter falling off the bed --- so many people have posted similar things. It happens to everyone once and then you learn not to let it happen ever again! Emily fell off of the couch once but thank goodness her boppy was right on the floor below her so she landed on that and just thought it was funny and giggled about it. But your daughter is OK so that is al lthat matters!

Please know we have all been there- and it no reflection on what kind of mothers we are....

The same thing happened to me a few months ago... you will see in this thread- it happens to everyone...

First, as a mom of a kindergartner I can't imagine yelling at a teacher in front of anyone. Way out of line! It's moms like that who have the kids with discipline problems. Go ahead, blame everyone else but your own rude kid.

As for the bed thing, we've all done it (or will) at one point. It's heartbreaking when it happens, but that's probably the most common way that moms learn how quickly & far their kids can roll. I learned how quickly Joseph could walk when he found a pen & covered the couch, ottoman & loveseat in minutes.

Glad there was no serious injury. You're not a bad mom (or teacher at all). Now, if you threw her off the bed I would think differently.

thanks for all your support. I am so tired from staying up ALL night- seriously didn't sleep at all, making sure bella was breathing and didn't have a concussion.

Don't feel bad... I think babies falling off beds are the most common injuries there are. THere are two parents in our daycare whose babies took the plunge while mommy or daddy turned for one millisecond. One baby had a black eye for weeks because of it! When Alex was 3 months old, I grabbed her and stretched her over my head to get her into the baby bjorn and didn't realize I was in the basement with a low ceiling and WHACK! IT happens... they survive and we move on
