Some simple first birthday party questions... please help!
First of all... am I really planning Sienna's 1st birthday?!!
I have no idea what to do so I need input from you guys about your child's party.
1. Where? At a place or at a house?
2. If house, did you have entertainment?
3. How many kids? Ages?
4. Time? And how long?
5. What food?

2. If house, did you have entertainment? I had someone come and do face painting and games for an hr and a half
3. How many kids? Ages? 25 kids ranging from 1-10
4. Time? And how long? 4 hours, 1230-430
5. What food? Too much food!!

1. my backyard.
2. Yes, we had a big bouncer for the kids. I believe it also came with a tatoo person (I can't remember)
3. 55 kids. Ranges from 1 year to 7
4. Started at either 1 or 2p I can't remember - and it lasted until about 7ish.
5. We BBQ'd a ton of food (burgers, hotdogs, chicken, steak) Made a ton of dishes (ziti, broccoli casserole, salad, orzo pasta etc). Had an ice cream bar, cake, edible arrangement etc

Wow how do you guys know so many kids?!

DD is only 5 months right now, but I did attend the 1st birthday party of a good friend a few months ago...
1. At her house
2. No
3. Just her son - more of a family/adult type party.
4. 12-3
5. She catered Mexican food from a local restaurant. Her theme was Handy Manny.
Have fun! I can't wait to do this one day!

A - at my parent's in NJ. They have a bigger house and big backyard. Plus, most fam and friends invited live in NJ
2. If house, did you have entertainment?
A - yes, we hired someone to do music
3. How many kids? Ages?
A - inviting about 20 kids between bab and 10 years old.
4. Time? And how long?
A - 1 PM and I didn't put an end time. Probably going to be 2.5 - 3 hours
5. What food?
A - wraps and subs for adults along with salads, chicken fingers and fries for kids along with the salads that we have for everyone. Cake, cookies and fruit for dessert
ETA... alcohol, and soda for adults and getting juice boxes and little waters for kids

2. If house, did you have entertainment? - no the kids played on the swing set and ran around - we did pin the nose on the clown and had coloring books, stickers, etc
3. How many kids? Ages? - approx 10 0-12
4. Time? And how long? 2pm til about 7
5. What food? - we ordered food in - had chicken franchaise, hero, made pasta salad, etc.
I don't think entertainement is necessary - kids can entertain themselves when in a big group.

Omg, i LOVE first birthdays!!!! Planning Mady’s was so much fun. You will have a ball planning Sienna’s!!
1. Where? At a place or at a house? We had it at a knights of Columbus hall b.c our place is teeny tiny. We have a winter baby too so, we couldn’t do anything outdoors.
2. If house, did you have entertainment? We did not do entertainment. Very glad we did not do this but we borrowed this gigantic inflatable bouncy thing. It was a hit! We were able to set it up in a separate room. I have video of it, but no pics to show you..
3. How many kids? Ages? No more than 10 kids under the age of 10.. and about 45 adults
4. Time? And how long? From 3pm to 7. I would make the party no more than 3 /4 hours
5. What food? We bought 3 (3) foot heros from bjs at $27 each. I made a HUGE tray of sausage and peppers, bought a tray of baked ziti from a pizza place, 1 tray of chicken nuggets ( I bought a bag from bjs) , my mother in law made a large salad and a half tray of floured sautéed chicken breasts,
Pretty much all of the baked ziti ,sausage and peppers were gone, we had practically 1 3foot hero untouched. Chicken nuggets were a hit as well.
Next time I will do 1 3 foot hero.

My 'small' family party consists of 65 people  
At my house - rented a tent
About 10 kids, age range from 8 months - 9 years (most are around 2-3 years old)
No 'entertainment'
Food: Lots of chips/dips/bruchetta/cheese appetizer stuff, Three 6 foot heros, salads, wings, and chix fingers and fries for the kids.
Cupcakes, brownies, fruit and birthday cake
Party starts @ 2:00 until .........whenever people go home I guess. I never put an 'ending' time on a house party invitation.
And most imprtantly - A GINORMOUS punch bowl of sangria !! Along w/ the other beer/wine

At a place or at a house? we booked a town park pavilion. it has covered tables, charcoal grills, bathrooms, several playgrounds (including a water playground), ball fields, and a few farm animals. I think the permit price of $75 was a steal. (we can bring in any food we want, including alcohol)
2. If house, did you have entertainment? not hiring entertainment. trying to keep budget small.
3. How many kids? Ages? I expect about 10 kids, maybe. Aged 4mos - 2.5yrs.
4. Time? And how long? noon - open ended
5. What food? unsure right now. usual apps (chips, etc), then either BBQing there or getting heros and salads with some homemade food supplemented. Easy outdoor food, no real hot chafing dishes.
We're doing a jungle theme, so I want to get some green streamers :)

3. How many kids? About 35 Ages? From baby to 10
4. Time? And how long? We started it at 3 (& had her take an early nap)
It ended around 8
5. What food?
We did 6 foot heros, sausage & peppers, ziti, hot dogs & cold salads

3. How many kids? Ages?(2 other one year old and then his three older elem. and middle school cousins)
4. Time? And how long?(1 until whenever)
(a 6 foot hero and some hot dishes and maybe some nuggets for the kids)

DS bday was in late january, so we didnt want to go out at a place.. maybe in the future we will b/c family and friends have grown (more kids)

home-made baked ziti, meatballs, salad.. ordered heros, wings.. friend brought taco dip and we bought pigs-n-blankets..
bought cake and made fruit salad
we figured the first bday is memorable but not a huge expense for us.. we will do that when he can remember it later (5 yr old or something)

we had a big first bday - we have huge families so its either all or none. We had 100 people at a hall. About 15-20 kids. We had a clown come for entertainment and that went over big. I had it catered....heros and also hot dishes. Cake , cookies and fruit. It was a 4 hr party. I think we did 2-6 PM so DD could take a nap first.
