Some questions about torticollis
My DS was recently diagnosed with torticollis (he is 5 months). I already feel so guilty that I didn't catch/notice it sooner . Our ped recommended some stretching and exercises we should do and if we saw no improvement within 2 weeks we should let him know and he would refer us to a PT. It's been a little less than 2 weeks but I've decided I'd like to get the ball rolling and take him to a PT since it appears that one side of his head is starting to get a little flat.
I did a quick search on here and noticed that some people have used PTs, chiropractors and/or ped. neurologists fort torticollis so I guess I was just curious what the difference is and why you chose to see who you did? Also any info, advice or suggestions on what else I can be doing to help my little guy would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Some questions about torticollis
We started with PT and within the first visit or so, she recommended a neurologist due to the shape of DS's head. Met with Dr. Mittler, who recommended a helmet and then we went with Bay Orthopedics and those doctors for the actual helmet fitting and adjustment.
Only saw the neuro 2x - when he recommended the helmet and at the end to confirm with the orthopedist that the helmet time was done.
Helmet doctor - I think we saw every week, or maybe every 2 weeks?
PT - started at 2x a week and gradually decreased until they released us.
Hope that helps!

Some questions about torticollis
In addition to the stretches, I found that tummy time and especially sitting time helped a lot (buy a Summer Infant 3-Stage Super Seat or something like a Bumbo)

I have the summer infant seat that we used for a matter or days because DS is insane and won't sit still.....
I'd give it away if you want it. My MIL bought it for us so I never spent any money on it......

Re: Some questions about torticollis
Thank you all.
The ped also recommended more tummy time and more time upright so we've been using the bumbo and the exersaucer as well. I'm hoping this, along with the help of the PT, will help resolve the issue.
